Within its Piping Solutions business line, Fives’ Piping and Support Structure Expertise Division has recently brought into compliance piping supports on the thermal power plant in Le Havre (France). The work involved an emergency intervention, praised by EDF, which highlighted the responsiveness, the professionalism and the quality of work performed at all stages of the project.
This intervention, linked to the framework contract signed in 2016 with EDF involving checking and repairing thermal power plant supports in France, took place over 5 weeks.
In order to check the correct operation of some of the spring supports, the calibration bench, developed by Fives Nordon to test supports, was used. The affected supports take a maximum load of 8T of piping and have a maximum mass of 500 kg.
