Exploration wells advancing quickly

An update was given by Lane Energy Poland and Schlumberger regarding the first exploration shale gas well designed to evaluate the shales in the Baltic Basin of Northern Poland. Furthermore, drilling on a second well in the area is at an advanced stage. Operated by Lane Energy, the drilling program represents a significant milestone for shale gas in Europe. With total depth reached in record time, including coring operations of the target shales, Lebien LE1 is the first of two-wells that Lane is drilling onshore. Drilling on Legowo LE1, the second well, began on 27 August and operations are on schedule. Currently, Schlumberger provides drilling, logging and cementing services for the wells and M-I SWACO, a Schlumberger company, provides drilling fluid services. Services completed on the Lebien LE1 well had no NPT and were in total compliance with local and international standards. During the production evaluation phase of the operations, Schlumberger will provide completion, stimulation and well testing services. The completion program has been submitted to the Polish mining authority with completion operations scheduled for October.
