European steelmakers up stainless alloy surcharge

Main European stainless steel markers have increased alloy surcharges on austenitic stainless steel for July deliveries. For example, Ugine & ALZ raised its grade 304 material surcharge from EUR 168tn to EUR 3376 per ton (pt). ThyssenKrupp increased its surcharge from EUR 180pt to EUR 3365pt and Outokumpu raised its surcharge from EUR 163tn to EUR 3326pt. Steelworks raised their surcharges due to high nickel prices, even though the current nickel price was dropped a lot.
