Essar Steel, one of leading integrated steel producers in India, announced the launch of revolutionary wood-finish steel products for the Indian market. These products are a substitute for wood laminates used for interiors. The products are manufactured at Essar Steel’s Pune facility in Maharashtra.
The wood-finish products made from recyclable steel last longer and are easier to use and maintain, and are environment-friendly. They can be made in different sizes (thickness and width). These lightweight products can be made weatherproof, corrosion resistant, UV resistant, anti-bacterial and termite-resistant. They can also provide a highly flexible coating, capable of severe bends, while retaining an excellent degree of hardness and resistance to marking. The finish can resist colour fade, corrosion, chemical attack, dirt retention, high temperatures, various weather conditions and daily wear and tear.
With the launch of this product, Essar Steel now has complete range of products required for pre-engineered buildings. The product range includes coloured roofing products, colour products for wall, ceiling, furniture and doors.
Commenting on the launch of these specialised wood-finish products, Mitesh Shah, CEO, Pune Facility, Essar Steel, said, “We always strive to introduce innovative products and the launch of the wood-finish products is a step in that direction. These products are an alternative to laminates and have unique features and benefits. They are also cheaper by 20%. Essar Steel has an annual production capacity of 400,000tns of colour-coated products.
