The UK Secretary of State for energy and climate change has hailed subsea services company ROVOP as “a leading specialist in its field” and one which is ensuring that the country remains at the global vanguard of the energy industry.
The Rt Hon Ed Davey was speaking as ROVOP announced that it had further bolstered its fleet of cutting-edge ROVs by investing GBP 4M into two new vehicles.
Davey, who met senior management at ROVOP during his visit to Aberdeen to engage with high-profile energy business leaders, said “ROVOP is a visionary company which has fast become a leading specialist in its field. It is an example of how British companies are playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the UK remains at the global vanguard of the energy industry by capitalising on their expertise and reputation for innovation.”
Award-winning subsea specialist ROVOP, which has created more than 40 highly skilled, export-driven jobs in the last 18 months, is set to take delivery of its two new ROV systems within the next two months.
The company’s latest additions to its fleet come just weeks after the Aberdeenshire-headquartered company announced that it had signed GBP 3.5M of contracts in January alone, ensuring a strong order book for 2013.
The second new addition involves ROVOP investing in an additional SAAB Seaeye Cougar XT ROV system, specially selected by the company for its powerful yet compact features.
