Emirates Steel wins SKEA Gold award

UAE steelmaker Emirates Steel announced that it has been awarded the Gold category of the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA 2014), which was presented to winners on 25 November by HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, at a ceremony held at the Emirates Palace.

Commenting, CEO HE Saeed G Al Romaithi said: “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award, which is an acknowledgment of our dedication and efforts in focusing on our customers and providing them with world-class steel products.â€? Winning the Gold Category demonstrates the Abu Dhabi-based steelmaker’s continuous improvements in its manufacturing process and the significant changes the USD 3B company has brought to all of its product range delivery. Two years back, Emirates Steel – a Senaat company – won the silver version of the award.

Emirates Steel is owned by Senaat, the UAE’s largest industrial conglomerate. Located in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi, Emirates Steel is the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, utilising the latest rolling mill technology to produce rebar, wire rod and heavy sections.
