E United to build nickel iron alloy plant

E United Group will budget TWD 10 billion to build a nickel-iron alloy plant in Ningde of Fujian province in China. The plant would have an annual capacity of 300,000tns with construction to begin sometime in September 2011. The development of this plant comes as a method to offset the impact from volatile nickel prices. Construction of the plant will begin once the environmental impact assessment has been completed. E United Group currently has four business units, including manufacturing, medical, education, and property and recreation. The Ningde plant will be developed in two stages; once the first stage of development is completed, the plant can roll out 30,000tns of pure nickel plus 300,000tns of nickel iron alloy per year. This will be fully supplied to Lianzhong Stainless Steel and Yieh United Steel. After the second stage of development is completed, the plant will see annual production capacity increase to 60,000tns of pure nickel and 500,000tns to 600,000tns of nickel iron alloy.
