Sandvik has used its extensive metallurgic experience and research and development to produce and publish a new brochure which outlines the company’s extensive steel products and capabilities. Duplex provides a solution across a wide range of applications, with a unique metal for every requirement. Sandvik SAF 2507 is widely specified for use in oil and gas applications, due to the fact it can reduce the weight of the hydraulic line in the drilling riser by up to 70%. Outlined is the next generation of this grade – SAF 2707 HD, a high alloy, hyper-duplex stainless steel developed to provide even greater performance in aggressive, acidic and chloride containing environments. Sandvik SAF 2304 is suitable for hydraulic and instrumentation tubing systems, as it can withstand nearly twice the pressure of tubes of the same diameter and wall thickness in ASTM 300 materials. Sandvik’s SAF 2205 is the most widely used of the current duplex materials. The new brochure specifies the standards for production in a number of formats including tube and pipe and bar.
