Docol R8 Tubing showcased at PRI

SSAB recently showcased its Docol R8 product at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana, the largest show of its type in the world.

“This is the fourth year SSAB has participated in PRI, but the first year the company has had enough inventory to address this year’s build season,” said Kim Colvin, regional sales manager, Automotive. SSAB referred customers to the AED Motorsport Products booth where they could purchase small quantities so they could test its weldability, formability and bendability. AED is SSAB’s primary distributor of the R8 tubing in North America.

The R8 tubing is a welded tube made out of Docol, which starts as a flat strip and is roll formed and welded into a tube. The advantages of the R8 tubing include consistency, weldability, strength and availability according to Colvin.

The PRI Trade Show, now in its 27th year, attracts over 1100 companies from more than 70 countries and all 50 states in the U.S., with buyers looking to source the new technology that will be winning races next year.
