DMS wins Chinese orders

DMS (Fives-Lille Group) has won an order to design, supply and commission a complete annealing and pickling line for stainless steel. The order came from Taiyuan Iron & Steel Co. (Tisco) Taiyuan, Shanxi. The line, with a maximum capacity of 800,000 t/year, will treat austenitic steel grades with width up to 1320mm and strip thickness of 2–6mm. The scope of work includes furnace, scalebreaking of shot blasters cabinet, pickling section, skin passing and side trimming as well as the electrical and automation equipment. The commissioning of the line is schedule for 2005.
DMS will also design, supply and commission a cold annealing and pickling line for Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel, the specialty steel arm of the Baosteel Group. It will be for strip width up to 1350 mm and a thickness of 0.2–2 mm. The line will contain a DMS skin pass mill. DMS will also supply a reversing skin pass mill for a thickness of 0.15–5mm. The skin pass mill will operate at a speed of 450 m/mn. The commissioning of the line is schedule for 2005.
