Danieli Zerobucket EAF receives final acceptance

The Danieli Zerobucket EAF in operation at Zhejiang Yuxin, China –which is running stably and efficiently– received final acceptance.

The furnace incorporates the Danieli-patented, Tornado preheating system –the very latest continuous scrap-charge system– featuring a variable-geometry preheating zone to automatically adjust and adapt the free cross-section of the conveyor, to create the optimal conditions for fume speed, temperature and process control.

The use of the Tornado dynamic, variable cross-section allows Zhejiang Yuxin to exploit the best pre-heating results with different scrap types available from the market, enjoying maximum purchase flexibility.

Average 70 kWh/t energy savings are achieved compared to conventional bucket charge and 10 kwh/t versus static preheaters.

Tornado technology allows for optimal operational results, with minimized carbon and NOx emissions and a short payback time.
