Danieli to replace MMK capacity

Danieli Morgårdshammar has been contracted by Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works for a large-scale modernisation of its 10 million-metric tons/year long-products operations. Magnitogorsk, or MMK, is Russia’s largest integrated steel operation, and one of world’s largest steelmaking companies. According to Danieli, the plan is to replace all of MMK’s existing hot-rolling facilities with three new “superflexible” high-capacity rolling mills. Together, they will accommodate more than 2 million metric tons/year of suitable to cover, all together, over 2 million ton/year MMK production capacity for long products.
