Czech Republic-Belgium pipeline proposed

RWE Energy AG plans to construct a 5 billion cum/year gas pipeline that will extend from the Czech Republic to Belgium. It will start operations in 2011 and reduce Germany’s reliance on Russian gas imports. Plans call for a 560km line to originate in Sayda on the Czech border and cross through Werne in Germany with a 200km section extending to the Belgian system in the Aachen area.
