CR stainless capacity doubles

Fujian Kaixi Stainless Steel, a Zhangzhou Yongda Group subsidiary, recently began operating two new rolling lines, which double its cold rolling capacity, Steel Business Briefing learns from company sources. The two new lines will add 100,000t/y of CR capacity to two existing lines which started in 2004, and bring overall capacity to 200,000t/y. Coil 1,250mm wide 0.15-3.0mm thick can be rolled, and more than 90% of the output will be sold directly south-eastern China’s markets. The balance will go to other processing lines, SBB understands. The stainless plant is a joint venture between Fujian Yongda and Canada Yongda.
