coilDNA: Seamless traceability of the delivered strips

coilDNA, a Linz-based startup and a wholly-owned subsidiary of AMAG Austria Metall AG, specializes in digitalization within the manufacturing sector. Its core business revolves around patented technology designed for marking and monitoring continuously produced semi-finished products. These products encompass a wide range, including coils, sheets, extruded or roll-formed profiles, as well as hoses or cables made from diverse materials such as steel, aluminum, or plastic.

For marking aluminum strips, sheets, and plates manufactured at the Ranshofen facility, AMAG relies on LEIBINGER printers. These printers play a crucial role in meeting the varied demands of customers spanning multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, packaging, construction, mechanical engineering, electronics, sporting goods, radiators, and heat exchangers.

The implementation of coilDNA-marked strips enables seamless traceability of delivered strips and sheets, along with the parts derived from them through subsequent processing stages. This comprehensive traceability encompasses properties and manufacturing parameters, facilitating efficient communication and coordination among AMAG customers. Leveraging specially developed coilDNA apps, customers can swiftly and easily access product-specific information once the coilDNA code is scanned. Such achievements are made possible through the utilization of LEIBINGER’s highly dependable coding and marking technology.
