Codina makes metallic meshes for industrial use

The company Codina produces metallic meshes for applications in processes and machinery for all kinds of industries. Stainless steel is used for the manufacturing of wire mesh providing functional and creative solutions of aesthetic character for facades, coverings, curtain walls, ceilings, etc.

Among its different projects the recent one to be introduced is the “Icade Îlot Kurvau” in Strasbourg, an office and  housing complex that was covered with stainless steel mesh Eiffel 40100 model, based on stainless steel strip AISI 316L produced by Acerinox Europa, and stainless steel wire AISI 316 produced by Inoxfil. Stainless steel mesh installed in buildings, has a long life-cycle, providing high resistance to corrosion, which in addition to offering functional and aesthetic features allows the control of sunlight and lighting of the building.

Stainless steel is the “green material” par excellence, it is recyclable to infinity. In architecture, the actual recovery rate is almost 100%, which makes it an idealmaterial for such applications.

Almost every grade of stainless steel is used in modern construction, but its choice must be made carefully. After proper selection of the grade of stainless steel, the manufacturing process has to adjust to the intended environment.
