The directors of Cockatoo Coal announced the appointment of Peter Kane as the CEO of the company to lead the delivery of the Baralaba Expansion project in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. Kane’s employment will formally begin on 19 April 2015.
Kane is a mining engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the mining industry throughout Australia, New Zealand and Mongolia, including significant and relevant Queensland coal sector experience. Recently, Kane has been the Group Managing Director at Guilford Coal, leading the successful transition from mine development to coal production in 2014.
Kane is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
