CNOOC starts up Xijiang oil project offshore China

CNOOC has brought onstream its Xijiang 30-1 development project in the Xijiang 30-2 oil field in the eastern South China Sea ahead of schedule.

The development, in an average water depth of about 98 m, features a new drilling production platform.

Eventually, 23 development wells will be drilled, delivering peak production of close to 26,000 boe/d of medium crude in 2027.

Earlier this month, CNOOC also started up its Bozhong 19-2 oilfield development project in central Bohai Bay, eastern China. And shortly before that, the company started operations at its Shenhai-1 Phase II Natural Gas Development project in the northern part of the South China Sea.
