CNOOC announces Yang Hua as chairperson

The Board of Directors of CNOOC announced that Wang Yilin has resigned from his positions as chairperson of the Board, chairperson of the Nomination Committee and non-executive director of the company. Yang Hua, an existing non-executive director of the company, has been appointed as chairperson of the Board and chairperson of the Nomination Committee of the company. In addition, Yang no longer serves as vice-chairman of the Board.

Yang joined CNOOC in 1982 and has over 30 years of experience in petroleum exploration and production. Yang served in a number of positions in the company including senior vice president, CFO, executive vice president, president and CEO. Yang also served as an Assistant President of CNOOC from November 2006 to April 2010 and as Vice President of CNOOC from April 2010 to August 2011. Yang served as director and president of CNOOC from August 2011 to April 2015. Yang has been appointed as chairperson of the Board and chairperson of the Nomination Committee of the company with effect from 19 May 2015.
