The 36-storey tower that soars above the City of London is Italian in its design, production and installation. EN 1.4401 (AISI316) stainless steel was used to produce the brackets for anchoring the cleaning equipment and the braces supporting the glass skylight that connects the eighth floor of a lower side wing to the 14th floor of the tower. The structure slanting through approximately 60 degrees on the horizontal plane is more than 30 metres above the heads of passers-by and supports laminated and toughened glass sheets measuring 2.4 x 2.2 metres. The braces (photo 3) measure 12mm in diameter and were taken from cold work-hardened bars in order to increase their tensile strength.
