China’s Ministry of Land and Resources will add molybdenum to the country’s list of protected minerals, which already includes gold, tin, stibium, tungsten, and tombarthite. The mining of molybdenum will be carried out on a quota basis, as per the ministry. China has 11.36 million mt of proved reserves of molybdenum across numerous provinces in the country. Currently, the country has been implementing export quotas, mining quotas as well as an export license system for the stibium, tombarthite, tungsten, and fields.
