China: hydropower plants

Unified Energy Systems (UES) plans to spend USD 8.2 billion expanding hydropower in eastern Siberia, which will help produce more energy to export to China. UES and the regional government in the Sakha republic, formerly Yakutia, are setting up the South-Yakut hydropower company, which will include four hydroelectric plants, according to Mr Vyacheslav Shtyrov, president of the local government.
