China: gas pipeline project

China Petroleum Material and Equipment Corp. has awarded US-based General Electric the contract to build a gas pipeline to transport natural gas from the Tarim Basin of NW China’s Xinjian region to Shanghai on the eastern coast. The USD 196-milion deal envisages supply of gas turbines, compressors, installation and testing services to 12 newly-built compressor stations along the West-East Gas Pipeline project.
