Chemtech ends automation of CBA aluminum plant

German conglomerate Siemens’ IT and engineering subsidiary in Brazil, Chemtech has successfully ended a consultancy developed for Brazilian aluminum producer CBA, part of local conglomerate Votorantim, in the municipality of Alumínio, São Paulo state.

Chemtech’s automation and industrial IT office in São Paulo has worked on implementing a production management system aimed to automate the aluminum plant, the company said in a release.

“The project was challenging as it demanded extensive analysis of the unit’s production processes, which is the largest aluminum producer in Latin America,” Chemtech’s manager Douglas Silva said.
CBA’s installed capacity is 475,000t/y of primary aluminum.
