Chemical joint venture in China

French industrial gases group Air Liquide SA has teamed up with US peer Air Products & Chemicals Inc. with a joint venture in China to make oxygen, nitrogen and argon. Wuxi Hi-Tech Gases Company Ltd, owned in equal proportions by the two partners, will build a factory in Wuxi, about 250km from Shanghai, which will house an air separation unit with a daily capacity of 430 metric tonnes of liquid gases, the Paris-based company said. Air Liquide did not disclose how much the companies had invested in the project.
