CG’s technology to power German households

Avantha Group Company CG, along with other consortium partners Cofely Fabricom and lemants, has been awarded the contract for the turnkey supply and installation of HV offshore substation for the 400MW Veja Mate Offshore Project. The scope of work for CG includes the electrical engineering, grid compliance studies, HV/MV equipment supply, installation and commissioning. The equipment will be installed at the 400MW offshore substation for the Veja Mate wind farm located over 100km off the German coast in the North Sea. The project will be brought online before the end of 2017.

The 400MW Veja Mate wind farm comprises of 67 wind turbines (6MW) and will be connected to the German high voltage grid via the BorWin2 converter platform. Commenting on the order, Avantha Group Company CG’s CEO and Managing Director Laurent Demortier said: “We are delighted that our experienced and dedicated offshore team has been selected by Veja Mate for their offshore wind farm. The project is in line with our renewable energy strategy. It provides yet another opportunity to utilise CG’s unique technology and expertise in wind offshore connection (HVAC) and to assist the German Government in further reducing carbon emissions and increasing the supply of green energy”.
