The Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) elected Tibor Šimonka as the next President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The President holds office on a non-professional basis. The term of the President is limited to two years. Tibor Šimonka will continue his career at SIJ Group as Senior Vice President.
In his presentation, Tibor Šimonka (SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group, d.d.) emphasized that he wants to take the Chamber to the future by building upon the 170-year tradition of the Chamber and the centuries-old tradition of steelmaking, knowledge, experience, and involvement in the Slovenian and international economic markets.
Key focus areas will include the green transition, support for digitalization and innovations, research and development, helping members to access financing, internationalization, and staff career development.
Among short-term priorities, he highlighted the upcoming legislative package of intervention measures to help the economy mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic, measures to relaunch the economy after the COVID-19 epidemic, CCIS’s investment platform (to facilitate access to EU funds), investments in R&D and cutting red tape.
