Caverion has recently made a contract with Metsä Fibre Oy, a producer of bioproducts and bioenergy, part of Metsä Group, on pipe deliveries for the pulp mill and evaporation plant at the bioproduct mill under construction in Äänekoski, Finland. This is the third order placed with Caverion for the same site.
The project execution involves material deliveries, prefabrication and installation of process pipes for the pulp mill and evaporation plant at the bioproduct mill. Most of the prefabricated pipes made from stainless steel will be manufactured at Caverion’s Leppävirta workshop, while carbon steel pipes will be manufactured at the Ylivieska workshop. The site will employ up to 220 Caverion personnel for around one year.
“Metsä Group’s bioproduct mill is the largest investment in the history of the Finnish wood-processing industry and among the largest in our operating area. It is great that we are able to realise such a major project and again contribute with our specialised professional competence and diverse expertise to the largest pipe delivery at the mill,” says Juhani Pitkäkoski, Executive Vice President & CEO, Division Industrial Solutions of Caverion. Project work will commence immediately, prefabrication of pipes will begin in May, and the first installations will take place at the end of May. The project will be complete in April 2017.
