Corrosion Materials adds plasma & waterjet

Corrosion Materials, a leader in corrosion resistant alloy distribution, has added a Messer High-Definition Plasma and a second Flow Waterjet at its Baker, Louisiana facility. Both machines are designed to produce high quality parts to service the market in a cost effective manner.

Liberty Mines to restart Timmins operations

Liberty Mines of Toronto intends to restart production at its Timmins operations in Q1 2012. Mining and milling was suspended in February 2011 as a result of maintenance and tailings pond issues. The company has spent the last six months analyzing the tailings pond problems and will embark on a project to raise the tailings dam to provide an additional three years of capacity.

Technip awarded umbilical contracts

Technip has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary DUCO Inc. has been awarded two contracts, by Shell Offshore Inc., for the Cardamom and West Boreas field developments, located in the Gulf of Mexico.

Bitumen refinery FEED contract

Fluor Corp. has been awarded a contract by North West Redwater Partnership to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for a new refinery project in Alberta, Canada. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value in the third quarter of 2011.

Honeywell to take part in biomass projects

Envergent Technologies LLC, a Honeywell company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Finland-based Green Fuel Nordic Oy under which the two companies would collaborate on projects to convert biomass to renewable fuel for use in district heating systems in Finland.

Largest solar plant uses Canadian solar modules

Canadian Solar Inc. has supplied 636,000 solar modules for the world's largest solar complex in southern Brandenburg, Germany. The company provided 148MW of the system's total 166MW to its two partners, Saferay and GP JOULE.

REpower concludes contract with Zuidlob

REpower Systems has concluded a contract with Zuidlob Wind B.V. for the delivery of 36 wind turbines. The turbines of the 3.4M104 type are to be installed in a wind farm near Zeewolde, Flevoland. With a total output of approximately 122MW the project is the largest wind farm in the Netherlands to date held by a single owner.
