Oil pipeline system expansion

Magellan Midstream Partners L.P. (MMP) is further expanding its crude oil pipeline distribution capabilities in the Houston area to deliver domestic crude oil and condensate transported via third-party pipeline systems from the Eagle Ford Shale production area directly to local refineries.

Pipeline contract to Nigeria-based firm

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) has awarded a contract for line pipes worth over NGN 7.8 billion to SCC Nigeria Ltd. SPDC had earlier worked with SCC to enhance their production processes and capability, such that the company is now able to manufacture line pipes of varying diameters.

SSE multi-fuel project

SSE Generation has been granted permission from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change to develop a 108MW multi-fuel project in West Yorkshire. The facility, to be located within its existing Ferrybridge coal power station site, will utilise sustainable fuel sources including biomass, waste-derived fuels and waste wood to generate electricity and heat.

Cryogenic processing plant

Eagle Rock Energy Partners L.P. intends to install a 125MMcf/d high efficiency cryogenic processing plant in Wheeler County, Texas, in the heart of the prolific Granite Wash play. The Partnership expects the installation of the new processing plant (to be named the "Wheeler Plant") and construction of the associated infrastructure to be completed early in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Nebraska Legislature begins Keystone XL session

Nebraska lawmakers began a special session on Tuesday to consider legislation that could affect regulation of TransCanada Corp.'s (TRP) Keystone XL pipeline and other pipeline projects that cross the state.

Georgia says yes to NG fuel stations

Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) has received approval from state utility regulators to build a network of compressed natural gas fueling stations across the state. AGL, the state's largest natural gas company, intends to construct 5 to 10 stations in metro Atlanta and then add more statewide.
