Mexico invites bids for USD 3.5B gas pipeline proj

newsitemPresident Felipe Calderon said Mexico has begun inviting bids for the Northwest Gas Pipeline, a conduit that will stretch for more than 2000km from the border with the US to the western city of Mazatlan and is expected to involve investment of roughly USD 3.5 billion. "I have an announcement of interest not only to Zacatecas (the state where he was speaking) but to the entire country, which is the call for bids for the largest of the pipelines to be built over the next few years, the Northwest Gas Pipeline, as well as other natural gas distribution zones," Calderon. Calderon recalled that last year he unveiled a USD 10.5 billion plan for structural change in the country's natural gas market, including construction of a natural gas pipeline network in central Mexico and the creation of four gas distribution zones.

Jacobs wins acid plant contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has won a contract from Vale Canada Ltd. (Vale) to design and supply a new sulfuric acid plant for its Sudbury smelter in Ontario, Canada. The acid plant contract, with an estimated value of USD 55 million, includes the design of the complete sulfuric acid plant contact section, as well as supply of all equipment and some materials.

Wood Group Kenny awarded EFA by Shell

Ohio lands gas plant

Chesapeake Energy will work with partners to build a USD 900 million natural-gas processing plant in Columbiana County. The Oklahoma City-based company announced the plan, saying it will work on the project with M3 Midstream and EV Energy Partners.
