Vallourec provides Technip with piping solutions

Vallourec has been awarded a contract to provide the Greater Stella Project in the North Sea with seamless linepipe including coating and welding services. The 96 km of coated linepipe is due to be delivered to Technip in early 2013.

Bristol Metals awarded major nuclear pipe contract

Synalloy Corporation announced that its Bristol Metals, LLC (BRISMET) subsidiary has been awarded a project contract by Bechtel. The project is for essential service water buried pipe replacement and is nuclear safety related.

Subsea 7 to develop gas export pipeline

Subsea 7 S.A. has been awarded the Varg Gas Export Contract from Talisman Energy Norge AS for the development of a gas export pipeline at the Varg field, located 200 km off the Norwegian coastline. The contract is for the engineering, procurement, installation and construction of a 6km flow line and flexible riser system as well as the installation of associated subsea structures, protection systems, and tie-ins. Engineering and project management will commence immediately at Subsea 7's Stavanger office with offshore operations due to begin in 2013.

Duplex water heater tank unveiled

Outokumpu has introduced duplex stainless steel for domestic water heaters in China, producing the first-ever duplex water heater tank with a local fabricator. Domestic water heaters offer vast market potential for stainless steel in China.
In April 2012, a prototype hot water storage tank for domestic water heaters was successfully fabricated in China from Outokumpu’s thin duplex stainless steel sheet of grade 2304 (EN 1.4362) under the supervision of and with assistance from Outokumpu technical specialists.

Gasunie and Vopak sign agreement with Shell

Gas infrastructure company N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie (Gasunie) and liquid bulk storage provider Royal Vopak (Vopak) have signed an agreement with Royal Dutch Shell (Shell) as launching customer for their LNG Break Bulk terminal, to be constructed at the Maasvlakte near Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The purpose of this terminal is to make LNG available for distribution to marine bunkering and truck fuelling stations. In this way liquefied natural gas (LNG) can be used as a clean alternative transport fuel.

Gas-to-chemicals complex contract Foster Wheeler

Foster Wheeler AG announced that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Petrobras for a world-scale grassroots gas-to-chemicals complex in Linhares, Espirito Santo State, southeast Brazil. Foster Wheeler will provide basic engineering design, front-end engineering design, and technical assistance and training during the engineering, procurement, construction phase through to successful completion of the plant performances tests.

Siemens snags EPC contract for US power plant

Siemens has been awarded an order for the turnkey supply of the Panda Sherman Power Project in Sherman, Texas. The company will supply the natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power plant (CCPP) in consortium with its partner, Bechtel.

Chevron acquires Delaware Basin Acreage

  Chevron Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, Chevron U.S.A. Inc., has agreed to acquire 246,000 net leasehold acres in the Delaware Basin in New Mexico, a part of the Permian Basin, from Chesapeake Energy Corporation.
