Fabricom wins Nordsee Ost wind farm contract

RWE Innogy has commissioned Dutch company Fabricom Offshore Services to maintain the foundations of the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm over the next four years. The contract includes the inspection and maintenance of the 49 jacket foundations of the wind turbines and the transformer substation, together with the monopile foundations of the measurement mast.

Metalloinvest appoints new MD for Ural Steel

Metalloinvest appointed Evgeny Maslov as the managing director of Ural Steel. Maslov will combine the role of managing director with his responsibilities as chief engineer.

Wave-piercing vessel contract for Rolls-Royce

newsitemRolls-Royce, the global power systems company, signed a GBP11M contract with Spanish shipyard Gondan for a wave-piercing offshore vessel to be delivered to Simon Møkster Shipping in Norway.The vessel is designed to pierce through the waves under harsh weather conditions, making it possible to keep a more constant speed, reduce the use of fuel and increase on-board safety.

Chusovoy shuts down last open-hearth furnace

Chusovoy Metallurgical Works, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, and based in the Perm Region, stopped producing steel through its open-hearth furnaces this March. The halt of the open-hearth furnace is the next stage of the company’s large-scale reconstruction that includes rejecting old and unprofitable technologies and turning to market-dictated production, namely the production of casing pipes and high-durability oil well tubing with premium threads.
