Slovakia: gas turbine contract

Rolls-Royce has signed a USD 20 million contract for two RB211-6761 Dry Low Emission gas turbine generating sets to power a combined cycle heat and power plant that will provide electricity and heating to a new industrial park in the town of Levice, Slovakia.

Mittal and Arcelor merge

Mittal Steel Co. has announced that it has reached an agreement with Arcelor to combine the two companies in a merger of equals to create the world’s leading steel company.

India: gas transmission and distribution network

Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. (GSPC) has drawn up plans to expand its presence in the States of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan to set up a gas transmission and distribution network similar to the one operated by the company in the State of Gujarat.

Algeria: gas facility project

Russian pipeline company Stroitransgaz will bid for the construction of a gas processing facility in Algeria.

India: product pipelines

Hindustan Petroleum Corp. has made plans for setting up product pipelines.

USA: NGL pipeline

Overland Pass Pipeline Co. LLC, Tulsa, plans to build a 750mi NGL pipeline from gas processing facilities in the Rocky Mountains to a market hub in Central Kansas.

Uzbekistan: LPG plants

Gail and Uzbek government-owned holding company Uzbekneftegaz, who recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to jointly set up cooking gas plants in Uzbekistan, are expected to work out the details shortly.

Canada: crude-oil terminal

Enbridge Inc. has announced that it will build a USD 250 million crude-oil terminal at Hardisty, Alberta.

Saudi Arabia: sulphuric acid production complex

Outokumpu Technology will design and deliver a sulphuric acid plant complex at Ras Az Zawr, Saudi Arabia.
