Stock Services, a UK supplier of stainless steel seamless butt weld fittings exhibiting at Stainless Steel World Exhibition in Maastricht for the first time, were faced with a challenge of how to exploit the opportunities and maximise its impact on existing and potential customers.

International iron ore company Centaurus Metals revised the development plan for its flagship Jambreiro Iron Ore Project in south‐east Brazil after production commenced at the facility at 1Mtpa with the ability to subsequently increase to 2–3Mtpa. This revised development strategy is expected to result in a substantial reduction in pre‐production capital, enabling Centaurus to commence development with significantly less financing risk and in the shortest possible timeframe to take advantage of continued strong iron ore prices.

E.ON, UK's leading power and gas company, submitted a planning application for the Strathy Wood wind farm development to the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit. The wind farm, located near Strathy, Sutherland, could generate up to 78MW of electricity – enough to power around 52,535 homes with clean, renewable energy.

Petrofac, in a 50-50 joint venture with Korean based Daelim Industrial Co (Daelim) has been awarded a 36-month Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC).

Kentz Corporation, the holding company of the Kentz engineering and construction group secured a five-year framework contract for general engineering services on the SAMREF refinery in Saudi Arabia. SAMREF is a complex refinery formed for the development, construction, ownership and operation of crude oil refining facilities in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
