Premier Hytemp, a provider of metal-based solutions to the oil and gas industry, is increasing its engineering capability in Singapore with the development of a second manufacturing facility.

Industeel, a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal specialising in the production of ingots and high value-added steel plates, is to supply 4,000t of steel to AREVA for the building of six steam generators at the Koeberg nuclear power station in South Africa.   AREVA won a EUR 300M contract in September to replace the generators at the nuclear power station close to Cape Town, operated by Eskom, South Africa’s public electricity company. The voestalpine Special Steel Division is opening a new location in Gebze near Istanbul jointly with a Böhler Uddeholm sales company this September.   For many years, the voestalpine Group has been operating successfully in Turkey; in the last business year alone, it generated revenue of EUR 160M in that country.

Sulzer acquired Advanced Separation Company (ASCOM), providers of oil, water and gas separation equipment, and ProLabNL, an independent company with unique capabilities to test equipment in actual oil field conditions.   Sulzer agreed to acquire both the companies located in Arnhem, The Netherlands, on 15 September.

Snam's Board of Directors, under Chairperson Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, approved the acquisition of the stake held by CDP GAS, a fully owned subsidiary of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) in Trans Austria Gasleitung (TAG), for a total amount of EUR 505M.   The transaction is in line with Snam’s international development strategy and further strengthens the company’s role amongst infrastructure operators in Europe.
