OneSubsea®, a Cameron and Schlumberger company, signed an agreement establishing a worldwide non-incorporated alliance with Subsea 7 to jointly design, develop and deliver integrated subsea development solutions through the combination of subsurface expertise, subsea production systems (SPS), subsea processing systems, subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines systems (SURF), and life-of-field services. The alliance will bring together Subsea 7’s experience and technology in seabed to surface engineering, construction and life-of-field services with OneSubsea’s unique reservoir expertise and state-of-the-art subsea production and processing systems technologies.

Xodus Group has been awarded a contract for the vibration assessment and analysis on the oil train piping and structures for Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) at Zirku Island, 140km north-west of Abu Dhabi. The work, valued at over USD 600,000, will pull in services from Xodus’ process, piping, instrumentation and structural teams.

Yong Steel Group, an iron and steel producer in China, has managed to extend the service life of its pulverised coal injection (PCI) lance tubes – one of the most important blast furnace components – from one month to one year by replacing standard grade tubing with Sandvik 253 MA. Sandvik 253 MA is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel that is designed for excellent high temperature oxidation resistance and carburisation corrosion resistance and good high temperature strength.

Mechel, Russian mining and metals company, is supplying rebar, structural shapes and hardware rolls for construction of Power of Siberia and Altai gas pipelines.

OneSubsea, a Cameron and Schlumberger company, has been awarded a contract worth more than USD 60M for the Shah Deniz Two development, operated by BP, offshore Azerbaijan.

Sun Valley, supplier of quality processed and raw nuts to European retailers and major blue chip manufacturers, recently purchased a number of bespoke filter systems designed and manufactured by filtration specialist Axium Process. The company, which traditionally used a sheet filter system for removing nutshell debris from oils, was looking for a flexible system capable of filtering from 2000micron down to 50micron that would require only a small footprint as well as being easy to maintain and clean.

Seatronics, an Acteon company and part of its survey, monitoring and data business, has promoted Derek Donaldson from vice president, Asia Pacific, to vice president, Global Operations. Donaldson enters into a new position within the Seatronics Group management structure, reporting directly to the Seatronics Group managing director, Phil Middleton.
