Severstal signs contracts with international automakers

Severstal has signed a four-month contract to deliver rolled steel to Renault-Nissan from March to June 2015. Steel produced at the Cherepovets Steel Mill will be used in car production at the Moscow and Tolyatti plants of Renault-Nissan and AVTOVAZ Alliance.

Olympic Steel names new GM of Schaumburg operation

Olympic Steel, a US-based metals service centre, promoted Andrew Wolfort to general manager of the company's operation in Schaumburg, Illinois, effective immediately. Wolfort initially joined Olympic Steel in 2005 as a general labourer in the company's Cleveland warehouse facility.

Metso finalises Tampere foundry sale to TEVO

Metso finalised the sale of the Tampere foundry to the Finnish company TEVO. The business was transferred to the new owner on 13 April 2015.

MMK becomes a steel supplier for Ford in Russia

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has been named as a steel supplier for Ford cars produced in Russia. MMK is successfully completing the acceptance process for its steel plate with Ford Sollers Holding, Ford carmaker in Russia, and is increasing supplies of automotive sheet to the corporation. Currently, two items of ultralow-carbon steel in various drawing categories used in the production of car body parts (including the front) for the Ford Focus have been fully accepted.
