Two-strand continuous slab casters from Primetals Technologies went into operation in September at Baosteel Zhanjiang, a subsidiary company of the Chinese corporation Baoshan Iron and Steel Co Ltd.

Sandvik has appointed Lars Engström as the President of Sandvik Mining. He will be included as a new member of Sandvik’s Group Executive Management. Lars Engström, previous President and CEO of the air treatment solutions company Munters, has an extensive industrial background with over a decade’s experience in the mining and construction industry.
