CNOOC's subsidiary has entered an Exploration and Production Contract with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy and KazMunayGas for the Zhylyoi Subsoil Area, covering 958 km² in the Atyrau region and Caspian Sea. The first exploration phase spans 9 years, with a 50/50 joint venture.

Anaergia signs conditional contract to design & build biogas facility

Anaergia’s Singapore subsidiary has secured a CAD 40M conditional contract to design and construct the Jeju Bio Energy Biogas Plant in South Korea, which will convert 54,000 tons/year of organic waste into renewable energy by 2027.

JERA signs Heads of Agreement with Woodside

JERA and Woodside have signed a non-binding agreement for LNG supply from Woodside’s portfolio, including the Scarborough gas field in Australia, targeting Japan’s peak winter energy demand. The agreement outlines the potential annual purchase of three LNG cargoes from FY 2027.

Fugro secures significant gas field development award

Nippon Steel to invest USD 6bn in electric arc furnaces

Nippon Steel is investing USD 6.05 billion to build and upgrade electric arc furnaces at three Japanese facilities to cut carbon emissions, supported by government subsidies. The project is part of Japan’s decarbonisation efforts under the Green Transformation Promotion Act, targeting full operation by FY 2028/2029.

Air Liquide signs a long-term gas supply agreement with VSMC

Eni starts gas production from Merakes East field

Eni has commenced production at the Merakes East field offshore Indonesia, delivering up to 100 MMSCFD. The subsea tieback to the Jangkrik FPU supports gas supply to the Bontang LNG plant and domestic markets. This follows a two-year fast-track development post-FID.
