Valmet to deliver CFB boiler to CLC Houli paper mill in Taiwan
Valmet will supply a CFB boiler, flue-gas treatment and automation system to Cheng Loong’s Houli paper mill in Taiwan, using waste and biomass fuels to cut coal consumption and reduce CO₂ emissions by an estimated 48,000 tonnes a year. The new boiler island and gas-cleaning systems represent sizable demand for stainless and high-alloy materials in pressure parts, ducts and flue-gas treatment equipment.
MHI Receives EPC Contract for Cyclo Olefin Polymer Plant for Zeon Corporation
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has secured the EPC contract from Zeon Corporation for a new cyclo olefin polymer (COP) plant in Shunan City, Japan, due for completion in the first half of fiscal 2028. The high-purity COP facility, serving optical, medical and semiconductor applications, will require extensive high-grade stainless steel in reactors, columns and clean piping systems.
EnviTec Biogas builds first biogas plant in the Philippines
EnviTec Biogas is resuming construction of a 1.4 MW poultry-manure biogas plant in Candelaria, Quezon Province, with fermenters, engine and grid connection already in place. Installation of internals, pumps and control systems will start in Q1 2026, ahead of feeding power into the Meralco grid from June 2026 – a classic manure-to-energy project with significant need for corrosion-resistant stainless tanks, piping and gas handling.
