CAPCIS acquires Petroleum Research & Production

CAPCIS Systems Ltd (Manchester, UK), the supplier of corrosion management, corrosion monitoring, and integrity project management solutions, has announced the acquisition of Petroleum Research & Production Ltd (PRP), the on-line monitoring instrumentation manufacturer. CSL will integrate the PRP technology base with its range of management services for customers who want to make best practice and methodology an integral part of major projects. With international businesses spending 7 trillion dollars on remedial measures, maintenance and inspection related to corrosion of assets and infrastructure, effective corrosion management processes are essential to enable organisations to manage the integrity of assets and the smooth running of projects. The newly acquired suite of PRP products, which grew out of a background in downhole and wireline instrumentation, is the first to deliver modular corrosion monitoring technology that integrates with industry standard software systems and best practice project management. The field proven Concerto™ systems contain all the necessary functionality for project planners, managers and developers to integrate on-line monitoring at the design stage of major plant and infrastructure projects.
Eric Atherton, who has led PRP’s technology development, is continuing his involvement with CSL as a Director.
