Canada: Shell contract

A subsidiary of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has received a contract from Shell Canada Ltd to provide front-end engineering and detailed design for the optimisation of Shell’s Waterton natural gas and sulphur processing complex near Pincher Creek in SW Alberta, Canada. The purpose of the optimisation is to make the 42-year-old plant into a smaller, more efficient facility. Jacobs and Shell are reviewing opportunities to align process capacity with projected field production. This extends the economic life of the Waterton Complex, reduces unit operating costs and fuel gas consumption, and benefits the local community and the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
