BUTTING receives award

BUTTING has received a very special award in the aerospace industry, when their long-time customer EADS Astrium named the company “Master of Supplier 2007” for outstanding performance in the fields of technical expertise and quality assurance. BUTTING has been producing semi-finished items such as pipes, elbows and flanges and ready-to-install piping components for companies in the aerospace industry for more than 25yrs. The two companies have been cooperating since the end of the 1970s. BUTTING started by supplying the former ERNO-Aerospace company, now EADS Astrium, with parts for the now retired ARIANE 4 rocket. This collaboration then moved on to the newly developed and more powerful ARIANE 5 in the early 1990s, and continues to this day. In recognition of the successful delivery of piping components for the ARIANE programme over many years, EADS Astrium has now honoured BUTTING with the “Master of Supplier 2007“ award. In this relation, BUTTING produces elbows, flexible metal tubes and machined connecting elements, in materials such as 1.4546.9 and 1.4435 for the ARIANE programme. These sensitive components are used as pressure gas and fuel pipes and as helium additional lines in the propulsion stage of the upper stage of the ARIANE rocket.
