BUTTING CryoTech Takes a Giant Leap in Space Industry

Space travel, once confined to the realm of imagination, is fast becoming a tangible market for BUTTING CryoTech. The Burgkirchen-based company has secured four orders from Isar Aerospace, Europe’s leading space tech start-up, marking a significant milestone in the future of space exploration.

Isar Aerospace, headquartered in Ottobrunn near Munich, has been recognized as one of Europe’s fastest-growing and most influential venture capital-financed tech companies, ranking second on the prestigious Tech Tour platform’s list. With a mission to revolutionize space access for small and medium-sized satellites, Isar Aerospace is driving innovation in the space industry.

One of BUTTING CryoTech’s notable orders involved the production of 1,100 meters of vacuum-insulated transfer pipe systems, comprising 171 spools with a permanent high vacuum and ranging in size from DN 40 to DN 100. The process pipes, constructed from material 304/304L, and the vacuum envelope, crafted from 316/316L, underwent meticulous engineering based on a provided 3D model. The company also provided supervisor services in Norway, overseeing installation, welded joints, pressure tests, and helium leakage tests.

Managing Director Tobias Kain expressed pride in BUTTING CryoTech’s contribution to this groundbreaking project, emphasizing the role of the company’s quality products, detailed engineering, and on-site supervision. Kain highlighted the importance of partnership and mutual trust in driving innovation, underscoring the company’s commitment to achieving further milestones in the space industry alongside its esteemed partner.

The project’s tight deadlines posed a challenge, with detailed engineering and production completed within four and five months, respectively. Despite this, BUTTING CryoTech’s dedicated team rose to the occasion, demonstrating their expertise and dedication to excellence in delivering cutting-edge solutions for space exploration.

As BUTTING CryoTech continues to pioneer advancements in the space industry, its collaboration with Isar Aerospace represents a significant step forward in shaping the future of space travel. With a focus on innovation, quality, and partnership, the company remains poised to make further strides in this dynamic and rapidly evolving sector.
