The supervisory board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG has resolved the following personnel changes on the company’s executive board and supervisory board, effective 1 October 2001:
Prof. Dr Ekkehard Schulz (60), from 1 October 2001, sole Executive Board Chairman of ThyssenKrupp AG, has resigned his seat as chairman of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG on 30 September 2001. On 1 October 2001 he will take over as the company’s supervisory board chairman as successor to Dr Heinz Kriwet (69), who has resigned his seat as member and chairman of the supervisory board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG at 30 September 2001. Dr Ulrich Middelmann (56), from 1 October 2001, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG, has been appointed successor to Prof. Dr Schulz as chairman of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG effective 1 October 2001. Likewise effective 1 October 2001, Dr Middelmann will succeed Prof. Schulz as supervisory board chairman of ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG. Dr Wolfgang Kohler (57), previously vice chairman of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG, is resigning from the company on 30 September 2001, although he will retain links in an advisory capacity. Dr Karl-Ulrich Köhler (45) has been appointed successor to Dr Kohler as vice chairman of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG effective 1 October 2001. From 1 October 2001 he will also take over as chairman of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG.
