BJ Services Company has announced that Doug Bell has been appointed area manager – Asia Pacific for BJ Tubular Services. In his new role, Bell oversees all operational, financial, business development and personnel activities throughout Asia Pacific on behalf of the division.
Previously Bell, 47, served as business development manager for the Middle East-Asia Pacific Region based in Dubai. Since joining BJ Tubular Services in 1998 he has been instrumental in generating new client relationships and supporting long-term clients in both regions. Bell is currently overseeing a number of major operations in India for Hardy Oil & Gas and Cairn Energy, and in Thailand for Chevron Offshore. He also played a key role in BJ Tubular Services’ contract with Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. A native of Tauranga, New Zealand, Bell is to be based in Kuala Lumpur and reports to Neil Gordon, general manager of BJ Tubular Services.
