Bespoke transmitter for South Pars gas field

The Solartron Mobrey Special Projects team has announced the successful completion a project for the gas project at South Pars in Iran. The project involved the design, manufacture and delivery of 45 customised displacement level transmitters for an Iranian company responsible for the marine facilities at South Pars. The level transmitters were designed with several bespoke features in order to ensure minimum maintenance and continued reliability within an aggressive marine environment. This included using high strength non-corrosive materials such as Inconel alloy and stainless and carbon steels within the housing and process connections, and customer-specific switching points. Six UK-based Solartron Mobrey engineers handle all customer special requirements from concept and design to manufacture and test. Responsibilities also include co-ordination of activities required to generate all the appropriate documentation in line with regional and industry-specific legal and safety requirements as well as any contract specific documentation. "The entire process is managed by one team from start to finish," explains Peter Neaves, Manager, Special Projects at Solartron Mobrey.
