Nu-Tech Engineering Services has manufactured a set of heavy-duty levelling feet, tailor-made to suit the requirements of a client in the pharmaceutical industry. The levelling feet required by the customer had to be capable of supporting a 10-tonne mixing tank. However, it was not just the weight that mattered, the feet had to comply with a 45-page specification covering everything from the materials used, to the tolerances and surface finish. Nu-Tech was able to handle the entire project and produce the feet exactly as required in heat-treated stainless steel with a surface finish of 8 microns, well within the necessary time frame. Chris Baker, Managing Director of Nu-Tech Engineering Services says, âThe hygienic feet for the mixing tank were one of the more unusual requests we have had. However, no matter how many variations we include in our standard ranges of supports and levelling feet, there are always customers looking for something out of the ordinary. âSupports capable of taking extreme loads or able to withstand extremely harsh environments are obvious examples. In addition we have manufactured medium-duty mounts for robotic equipment, camera tracking systems and processing machinery as well as lightweight mounts for equipment such as laboratory instruments.â?
The base, sleeve lock nut, retaining bolt and washer where manufactured in stainless steel to BS970 316 S11. The stud is manufactured from stainless steel to ASTM A479 type XM-19. All components were machined to a surface finish of 0.8 micro-m. or better.
