Baltic Sea: pipeline construction

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between BASF and Gazprom (Russia) to further consolidate their successful collaboration with a range of formal projects. The partners will both be involved in the construction of the planned NEGP Northern European Gas Pipeline through the Baltic Sea, intended to transport natural gas from the Yushno Russkoje field to Western Europe. WINGAS will oversee the connection of this new pipeline to its own pipeline network as a matter of priority. The partners are anticipating the involvement of other Western European gas trading companies in this pipeline project.
